A festival of exhilarating and inspirational live art featuring world premieres of several specially commissioned works, ground-breaking small audience, stage and durational performances, a unique audio coach tour of Tyneside, as well as keynote presentations by leading writers and critics.
Taking place across three different venues: BALTIC, ms Stubnitz and specially organised coach tours, navigate presents an international line-up of pioneering artists whose diverse practices address 'navigation' as a core theme - navigation of the body as site, the mapping of real and virtual geographies, the navigation of data within digital media and the navigation of time across physical and emotional space.
Part of the 2005 International Festival of Rivers and the Sea, funded by Arts Council England, Newcastle City Council, Northern Rock Foundation and the Millennium Commission Urban Cultural Programme.
